Celles-sur-Ource lies in the valley of the Ource, a tributary of the Seine, in the Barséquanais in the Côte des Bar (Aube department). The commune has no cru status.
- Vineyards: the slopes along the Ource are planted on lime-rich Kimmeridgian marl. Pinot Noir predominates, with Chardonnay as a complement.
- Character: the champagnes are ripe, fruity and full in style, typical of Pinot Noir from the Aube.
- Producers: the village has a remarkable number of growers, including Benoît Tassin, Huguenot Tassin, LS Cheurlin, Marcel Vézien, Michel Furdyna, Philippe Fays, Vaucelle and Pierre Brocard.
