Baslieux-sous-Châtillon is a small wine village in the Marne department, in the Vallée de la Marne on the right bank of the river, not far from Châtillon-sur-Marne and Dormans. The commune has no cru status.
The vineyards lie on the rolling slopes above the Marne valley, where clay and marl soils set the tone. As in almost all of this part of the valley, Pinot Meunier is the main grape; it gives fruity, supple champagnes with an approachable character.
- Producers: Champagne Eric Taillet welcomes visitors for a tour of the press house and cellar with a tasting. Guy Remi, Liébart-Régnier and Rouillère Fils are also based in the village.
