Meurville is a small wine village in the Aube department (10), in the Côte des Bar, in the Bar-sur-Aubois north of Bar-sur-Aube. The village has no cru status.
- Vineyards: as throughout the Côte des Bar, pinot noir is the main grape, complemented by chardonnay. The slopes lie on calcareous marl.
- Character: the champagnes are ripe and fruity, with the power and red fruit of pinot noir from the south of Champagne.
- Producers: Meurville is home to Champagne Gaston Cheq, among others.
The Côte des Bar is the southernmost part of the champagne region and lies closer to Chablis than to Reims.
