Mardeuil lies in the Marne department, on the left bank of the Marne, directly west of Épernay. The village has no cru classification.
- Vineyards: meunier is the main grape here and thrives on the cooler slopes; chardonnay and pinot noir are also grown.
- Character: the champagnes are round and fruity, with the suppleness of meunier.
- Producers: Mardeuil is home to the Beaumont des Crayères cooperative, founded by small growers who wanted to market a single brand together. The name refers to two vineyards, Beaumont and Crayères. The house is known as a meunier specialist and also makes champagnes from meunier alone. Tanneux-Mahy and Maison Gamet, among others, are also based in the village.
