Châtillon-sur-Marne lies in the Marne department, on the right bank of the Marne, roughly halfway between Épernay and Dormans. The village has no cru classification.
Above the village stands a large statue of Pope Urban II, who was born in Châtillon-sur-Marne. The monument was inaugurated in 1887; a staircase inside allows visitors to climb to the top, with a panorama over the vineyards of the Marne valley.
- Vineyards: as elsewhere on the right bank, meunier is the main grape, alongside pinot noir and chardonnay, on slopes with clay, marl and limestone.
- Character: the champagnes are fruity, round and approachable.
