Avirey-Lingey is a wine village in the Côte des Bar, in the south of Champagne, in the Aube department. It belongs to the Barséquanais, the wine area around Bar-sur-Seine, and lies not far from Les Riceys. The village has no cru status.
- Location: in the rolling landscape of the southern Aube, between the valleys of the Seine and the Laignes.
- Vineyards: as throughout the Côte des Bar, pinot noir dominates. The soil consists mainly of Kimmeridgian calcareous marl, related to that of Chablis, rather than the chalk of the Marne.
- Wines: champagnes from this area are generally fruity and round, with the ripeness and red fruit of pinot noir.
- Producers: the village is home to Dosnon, Marin & Fils and Pescheux, among others.
