Voirin-Desmoulins is a family business and récoltant-manipulant in Chouilly, east of Épernay in the Côte des Blancs. In 1960 Bernard Voirin married Nicole Desmoulins, both from growing families, and together they created their own brand. Their daughter Pascale worked alongside them and took over the business in 1997.
Vineyards The estate farms 9 hectares in Chouilly, Verneuil, Mont-Saint-Père and Gland: 3 ha of Chardonnay, 3.5 ha of Pinot Noir and 2.5 ha of Meunier. Chouilly is one of the 17 Grand Cru communes of Champagne, with east-facing slopes and chalk soil. Around 50,000 bottles are sold each year.
Method After winter rest in the cellar come blending and tirage; the champagnes age at least 15 months on the lees, and dosage uses a liqueur of sugar and reserve wine.
