Champagne Voirin Jumel
Champagne house in Champagne.
Champagne Voirin-Jumel is a family estate in Cramant, a grand cru village on the Côte des Blancs.
- History: Jean Voirin, who owned some vines and sold his grapes in bulk, decided after the Second World War to bottle his own champagne. The house was formed through the marriage of Gilles Voirin, from a family in Chouilly, and Françoise Jumel from Cramant. Today it is run by siblings Patrick and Alice Voirin.
- Vineyards and terroir: The estate farms some 11 to 12 hectares around Cramant, plus a parcel of pinot noir in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ in the Vallée de la Marne.
- Cuvées: The Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs "555" is named after the house's address. Others include a Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs, La V.1 with a réserve perpétuelle, a Tradition Brut and a vintage wine.
