Champagne Michel Littière is a family house and récoltant-manipulant in Œuilly, on the left bank of the Vallée de la Marne. After working alongside his father Raymond Littière, Michel set up his own brand in 1970. His daughter Marie-Hélène joined in 1991 after her viticulture training, and his grandson Baptiste joined in 2025.
Vineyards
The family estate covers 5.5 hectares, exclusively on the slopes of Œuilly, spread over 25 plots planted with the three Champagne grapes. It has been HVE certified since 2018.
Approach
As 100% independent winegrowers, the family handles every stage itself, from harvesting and pressing to riddling, disgorging and labelling. Only the first pressing, 'la cuvée', is used.
Champagnes
- Réserve Brut: 70% pinot noir, 15% meunier and 15% chardonnay.
- Blanc de Meunier: 100% meunier, partly fermented and aged in casks.
- Chorus: 50% chardonnay, 25% pinot noir and 25% meunier, around nine months in 400-litre barrels.
- Also an Extra Brut, a blended rosé with around 12% red wine from Œuilly, a Millésime 2019 and a ratafia.
