Champagne​‌​ Lemaire Père & Fils is a family-run business in Saint-Thierry (Marne), founded in 1885 and run since 1993 by the brothers Nicolas (vinification/sales) and Antoine (production). The estate is based on the historic Mont d'Hor, a location with legendary ties to the baptismal kingdom of Charlemagne and the 5th-century Benedictine monastery of Saint-Thierry.

Vineyards and Terroir

• The operation covers 14 hectares with 100% own grapes.
• The soil is sandy with argilo-calcaire and chalk, which provides freshness and minerality.
• The grape varieties are 50% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Meunier.
• The wine is certified HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale).

Winemaking and Philosophy

• The champagnes are produced with respect for tradition, aimed at balance, fruit and freshness.
• Non-vintage champagnes age for at least 30 months on the lees, vintage cuvées 5 to 10 years.
• The house style emphasises a leading Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with a reserve wine percentage of 25-35%.
• In addition to viticulture, the estate offers oenotourism: cellar visits, tastings and accommodation in a renovated barn.

Champagnes (Selection)

• Brut Réserve: The signature cuvée; 55% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, 15% Pinot Meunier, dosage 11 g/l.
• Extra Brut: Powerful and delicate, dominated by Pinot Noir.
• Brut Rosé: Blend with 13% red wine; notes of raspberry, cherry and violets.
• Millésime: Vintage champagnes (e.g. 2008, 2009, 2012, 2015).
• Blanc de Blancs and Blanc de Noirs: Vintage versions (e.g. 2015).
• Ratafia Champenois: A traditional drink of fresh grape must and champagne.
