Chaudron is a family house in Verzenay, on the Montagne de Reims, where the family settled in 1867. Seven generations of winegrowers have succeeded one another; today Luc Chaudron runs the estate, with his daughter Capucine as the next generation. His father Lionel modernised production and the cellars around 2000; since 2008 production has been based in Vaudemange.
Methods As a négociant-manipulant, the house can also use grapes from other parts of Champagne. Since 2017 Chaudron has been building a range of zero-dosage cuvées.
Champagnes
- Classics: Brut Grande Réserve (the three grape varieties) and Brut Rosé.
- Plaisirs: Blanc de Blancs from Côte des Blancs Grands Crus and Blanc de Noirs from Pinot Noir.
- Prestige: Cuvée Hélène Chaudron, named after the matriarch who lived on the estate for 102 years, and the low-dosage Cuvée Capucine.
