Verpillières-sur-Ource is a small wine village in the valley of the Ource, in the south of the Aube department. It belongs to the Côte des Bar and the Barséquanais and has no cru status. The Ource is a tributary of the Seine; together with the Seine valley and the valley of the Laignes, this valley forms the heart of the Barséquanais. Viticulture here is carried mainly by family businesses.
- Location: in the Ource valley, south-east of Bar-sur-Seine, in the rural south of Champagne.
- Vineyards: pinot noir is the main grape, complemented by chardonnay, on lime-rich Kimmeridgian marl.
- Wines: round, fruity champagnes with the red fruit of pinot noir.
- Producer: Millot is based in Verpillières-sur-Ource.
