Vandières lies in the Marne department, on the right bank of the Marne, between Châtillon-sur-Marne and Dormans, about twenty minutes from Épernay. The village has no cru classification.

The village lies on the edge of the plateau and is almost entirely surrounded by vineyards. As elsewhere in this part of the Vallée de la Marne, meunier is the main grape here, complemented by chardonnay and pinot noir, on slopes with clay, marl and limestone. As a result, the champagnes are generally fruity, round and approachable.

Several family businesses work in Vandières, including Christelle Salomon, Denis Salomon and Delouvin Nowack. Walking routes lead from the village through the vineyards and woods to the Marne, and to nearby Châtillon-sur-Marne with its statue of Pope Urban II.
