Champagne Christelle Salomon is a family business in Vandières (Vallée de la Marne), run by Christelle Salomon, the fifth generation of winegrowers. After taking over the 3-hectare estate in 1999, she launched her own label in 2004 and built her own press and fermentation room in 2006. The business produces approximately 13,000 bottles a year and is recognised as a Vigneron Indépendant (grower-producer).
Viticulture and approach The vineyards lie on south-facing slopes and are combined with modern techniques, such as the use of enamelled and stainless steel tanks (cuves). Vinification follows traditional steps: pressing, fermentation, blending and bottling with the méthode traditionnelle. The champagnes undergo a minimum ageing of 30 months (longer than the legal 15 months) in cool, dark cellars, followed by disgorgement.
Champagnes and range The portfolio comprises seven cuvées, including:
- Cuvée Éphémère: A Brut Nature vintage 2018, 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir.
- Si J’ose…: A Blanc de Blancs (100% Chardonnay) with modern vinification.
- Cuvée Euphonie: A Blanc de Noirs (70% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Meunier).
- Résurgence: A blend of 70% Pinot Meunier and 30% Chardonnay.
- L’Incarnate Rosé: A fruity rosé (60% Pinot Noir, 40% Pinot Meunier).
- Excellisime: A blank (white) champagne.
- Ratafia: A liqueur made from must and champagne.
Visitors can visit the estate for a cellar visit and tasting, exclusively by reservation. The address is 7, rue Principale, 51700 Vandières.
