Cuis lies in the Marne department, on the northern edge of the Côte des Blancs, a few kilometres south of Épernay and next to Cramant. The village has Premier Cru status.
- Vineyards: chardonnay is the main grape here, planted on chalk. Some of the slopes lie higher and face more to the north than in the Grand Cru villages further along.
- Character: the champagnes are fresh, taut and lively, with a clear acidity that makes them suitable for blanc de blancs and for long ageing.
- Producers: the best-known house is Pierre Gimonnet & Fils, which makes blanc de blancs from Cuis. Thierry Bourmault is also based here.
