Colombé-le-Sec lies in the Bar-sur-Aubois in the Côte des Bar, not far from Bar-sur-Aube and the abbey of Clairvaux (Aube department). The commune has no cru status.
The village has a long monastic history: the Cistercians of Clairvaux were already active here at the end of the twelfth century. Their Cellier aux Moines, a vaulted medieval wine cellar, is protected as a historic monument. Two oculi in the vaults recall the way the monks let the must run down. Champagne Monial makes its cuvées there today.
- Vineyards: lime-rich clay soils, typical of the Côte des Bar, planted mainly with Pinot Noir and also Chardonnay.
- Producers: Monial, Charles Clément, Christophe and Soret-Devaux.
