Champagne Charles Clément is a cooperative champagne house based in Colombé-le-Sec (Côte des Bar region), founded in 1956 by 22 winegrowers and named after co-founder Charles Clément. The cooperative grew to 60 active members who grow grapes on approximately 120 hectares spread over seven communes, with the terroir characterised by clay-limestone soils and a predominant planting of Pinot Noir (the signature of the house style), complemented by Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier.
The approach combines traditional champagne methods with modern technology, such as pneumatic presses and cooled storage rooms, to guarantee careful on-site vinification. The champagnes undergo slow ageing in the cellars, resulting in a wide range of cuvées, including the Tradition (50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Meunier), a 100% Pinot Noir Blanc de Noirs, a Cuvée Rosé, a 100% Chardonnay and prestigious Millésimé and Natura (zero dosage) versions.
