Champagne Christophe is a family business based in Colombé-le-Sec, a traditional wine village in the heart of the Côte des Bar that has been awarded the "4 flowers" label. The name of the house is a tribute to the current manager, Christophe, who shares his passion for winegrowing with his forebears.
History and Family
The estate has been active in champagne production for three generations, with knowledge and strict quality requirements passed down from generation to generation. The current manager, Christophe, was born and raised in Colombé-le-Sec and runs the estate together with his family, including his grandson Louis, which contributes to the warm and friendly atmosphere of the tasting.
Vineyards and Terroir
As a récoltant-manipulant (grower-producer), Christophe grows his own grapes on the hills of the Côte des Bar. The vineyards consist mainly of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, grape varieties inherited from his parents and grandparents. The terroir, in the picturesque and flower-filled village of Colombé-le-Sec, is essential to the authenticity of the champagnes.
Approach and Range
Production focuses on a diversity of cuvées that have been distinguished several times for their quality. Visitors can visit the estate for a tour of the vineyards and the cellar, followed by a tasting in a relaxed atmosphere. The champagnes are praised for their freshness and character, with specific recommendations such as a rosé that goes well with various occasions.
