History: Maison Vincent d'Astrée was founded in 1956 by a group of winegrowers who wanted to add value to their grapes, and is based in Pierry, a village at the entrance to Épernay. The cooperative structure is carried by approximately 170 member winegrowers who work together to preserve their heritage and terroir.
Vineyards: The winegrowers cultivate 70 to 85 hectares of vineyards in the Premier Cru zone of the Coteaux Sud d'Épernay. The chalky terroir and the location offer an ideal climate for the three main cépages: Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with Meunier often central to the expression of the champagnes.
Working methods: The vinification takes place in ancient cellars (sometimes stated as two hundred years old) where the wine is kept and worked with respect for tradition. The team offers visits and tastings, where guests can see the entire cycle from grape to bottle and discover the specific characteristics of the cépages.
Champagnes: The range includes several cuvées that reflect the minerality and authenticity of the terroir. Well-known labels are:
- Blanc de Blancs: A fine, floral champagne made from 100% Chardonnay.
- Blanc de Noirs: An authentic champagne that highlights the power of Pinot Noir and Meunier.
- Rosé de Saignée: A fruity and powerful rosé, often a blend of Pinot Noir and Meunier.
- Première Cuvée: The classic non-vintage blend that represents the house style.
