Sanger is a champagne house and cooperative in Avize, in the Côte des Blancs. The brand was born in 1952 from the contributions of sixteen founding growers. Since 1952 the house has been committed to passing on knowledge between generations: under an agreement with the Lycée Viticole d'Avize, pupils, students and trainees learn how champagne is made and sold in real working conditions. The cellar master is Nicolas Robert (since 2019) and the director Régis Thibert (since 2020).
Method The champagnes are neither filtered nor fined and benefit from extended ageing on the lees. A large share of the grapes delivered comes from environmentally friendly growing, with minimal use of plant protection products, soil cultivation and organic fertilisation. The house is ISO 22000 certified.
