Champagne Pierre Gobillard is a family business based in Hautvillers, the village where the monk Dom Pérignon lived and which is regarded as the cradle of champagne. The house is known for the authenticity, elegance and freshness of its champagnes.
History and Management Although some sources refer to a foundation in 1947 or 1948, the family has been winegrowers in Hautvillers for four generations. Hervé and Florence Gobillard have run the business since 1990, using their knowledge to preserve tradition. They are currently assisted by their children Pierre-Alexis and Chloé Gobillard, who continue the style of the house.
Vineyards The estate's vineyards extend over the Premier Cru terroirs of Hautvillers and Cumières. The estate has approximately 6 to 8 hectares of vineyard and has the three classic champagne grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. The location offers a panoramic view over the Marne Valley.
Approach and Champagnes The champagnes are produced according to strict Champagne tradition, characterised by low sugar dosage (low dosage) for a fresh taste. The range includes:
- Brut Authentique: A balance of the three grape varieties (often with more black grapes).
- Blanc de Blancs: Made from 100% Chardonnay.
- Cuvée Prestige: A premium cuvée with a high proportion of Chardonnay.
- Brut Rosé: A rosé champagne, often prepared by blending.
Visitors can visit the estate in the caveau or the panoramic hall L'Effervescence for tastings and events.
