Champagne Paul Launois is a récoltant-manipulant in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, the Grand Cru village in the Côte des Blancs, run by Julien and Sarah Launois.
- History: The Launois family has farmed vines in the village for generations but long supplied the cooperative. After nine years abroad, Julien decided with his wife Sarah, a graphic designer, to work under their own name; Sarah designed the brand, named after their son Paul. In 2013 they bought a cellar building in the heart of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, which they renovated themselves, and their first own harvest followed in 2015.
- Vineyards and terroir: The couple work with around 6.5 hectares of Chardonnay in the Grand Cru of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.
- Approach and style: All cuvées are riddled by hand and disgorged by hand à la volée. Julien introduced a "single barrel" method, in which the harvest is divided between individual new Champagne barrels with different toast levels.
- Cuvées: Alongside the Single Barrel wines, the house makes a more classic range of Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru, including Composition, Monochrome and Illustration.
