Odyssée 319 is a Champagne label founded by Olivier Bonville and his son-in-law Ferdinand Ruelle-Dudel, leaders of the prestigious house Champagne Franck Bonville. The project began in Avize, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, where the family has been growing Chardonnay for four generations. The mission is a journey through the 319 villages of the Champagne appellation to celebrate the diversity of the terroirs and the craftsmanship of local winemakers.
The main house's vineyards extend over 15 hectares on 77 plots, spread over the Grand Cru villages of Avize, Oger and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. The approach is based on culture raisonnée (integrated pest management), avoiding insecticides and weedkillers. The champagnes are vinified in former stables converted into a cellar, with ageing in stainless steel and oak barrels to preserve the purity of the terroirs.
The range consists of two categories:
- Permanent cuvées: Five fixed champagnes that reflect the character of Avize and the Côte des Blancs, such as the Blanc de Blancs Brut and Millésime.
- Cuvées of curiosity: Annual discoveries such as Jour 1: Le Levant (southern slopes of Avize) and Jour 4: Mareuil-sur-Ay, which highlight specific micro-terroirs or grape varieties.
- Specialities: Wines such as Le Levant (100% Chardonnay, Brut) and Le Couchant (northern slopes) show the nuances within a single village, while the Rosé is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
