Champagne Nicolas Moreau is a family house in Épernay with a history spanning four generations. In 1932 Elie Moreau created the Champagne Elie Moreau brand; his son André developed sales, and in 1985 André's son Fabrice took over and, with his wife Noëlle, expanded the vineyard. Nicolas, trained in viticulture and oenology and holding a master's in 'Vins et Champagne', created the Nicolas Moreau brand in 2017.
Vineyards
The 5-hectare vineyard lies in Épernay, Hautvillers (premier cru) and Chouilly (grand cru) and consists of 60% chardonnay, 30% pinot noir and 10% meunier. Since June 2019 the estate has been HVE certified.
Approach
The blends are composed in January with the help of reserve wines. The bottles age for at least 36 months in the cellar and for at least three more months after disgorgement.
Champagnes
The range comprises Carte d'Or Brut, Brut Réserve, Blanc de Blancs, Brut Rosé, Prestige, Délice (demi-sec), Brut ADN and a limited-edition Blanc de Noirs. Visits and tastings on the heights of Épernay are available by appointment.
