History: The estate is based in Écueil (1er Cru, Montagne de Reims) and has been producing champagne since 1881, with active winegrowing by the Brochet family since 1674. The current business was founded in 1943/1944 by Henri Brochet and Yvonne Hervieux and is now run by the fourth generation, Hélène and Louis Brochet.
Vineyards: The vineyard covers 13 hectares divided over 50 plots in Écueil, Sacy and Villers-aux-Noeuds (Montagne de Reims) and the Ardre valley (Branscourt, Mery-Premecy, Treslon). The grape variety is mainly Pinot Noir (about 75%), supplemented with Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier.
Winemaking: The house is a récoltant manipulant (grows and makes its own) and uses massal selection for Pinot Noir. They have been certified for HVE3 (Haute Valeur Environnementale) and Viticulture Durable en Champagne since 2017. Production characteristics are low dosage, respect for the terroir and sometimes vinification in oak barrels.
Champagnes: The range includes Extra Brut, Brut, Rosé, Blanc de Blancs and Blanc de Noirs, plus millésimes (vintages). Important cuvées are the Signature, Héritage and Éphémère, where the Pinot Noir dominance determines the finesse and character of the champagnes.
