Legouge-Copin is a family business of grower-owners in Verneuil, in the Vallée de la Marne. Jocelyne grew up in Vandières, where her ancestors sold their grapes to Champagne houses; in 1962 her father Serge Copin released the first champagnes under his own name. In 1992 Jocelyne and her husband Jean-Marc Legouge took over the business and created Champagne Legouge-Copin.
Vineyards The vineyard of just over 5 hectares lies in Vandières, on the southern slopes of the Vallée de la Marne between Épernay and Dormans, on clay-limestone: 80% Meunier, 15% Pinot Noir and 5% Chardonnay. Grass cover, soil work and reasoned pest control earned the estate HVE and VDC certification in 2019.
Method Harvesting is done by hand. The champagnes are made in collaboration with a growers' group, with oenologists and technicians. All cuvées age for at least four years in the cellar.
