Jean-Philippe Bosser is a family estate in Hautvillers, the cradle of champagne, now run by the fifth generation. In 1911 the Breton sergeant Pierre Bosser came to Hautvillers with his regiment and married Suzanne Dutarque, the daughter of winegrowers. After her father's death Pierre took over the business; the first bottling under his name dates from 1933 (around 800 bottles). His son Jean installed a press and vats; grandson Jean-Philippe and his wife Huguette expanded the vineyard and gave the champagne its present name. Their daughter Christelle is now taking over.
Vineyards The plots lie on the slopes of Hautvillers, on Premier Cru terroir, planted with Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay. The vineyard is farmed in a reasoned way with natural grass cover and limited plant-protection products; the estate is certified Viticulture Durable en Champagne and Haute Valeur Environnementale.
