Champagne Herbert Beaufort is an independent wine house in Bouzy (Grand Cru, Montagne de Reims), run by Henri Beaufort and his sons Hugues and Ludovic. The family has been active in winegrowing for 12 generations (since the 16th century) and has produced champagne since 1929.
- Vineyards: The estate has about 12–16 hectares of vineyards, mostly in Bouzy, Ambonnay and Tours-sur-Marne. The soil is chalky and the grape variety is 90% Pinot Noir, with Chardonnay as the secondary variety. The estate is HVE3 certified.
- Winemaking: A distinctive technique is the avoidance of malolactic fermentation, which results in champagnes with more freshness and structure. Bouzy Rouge (still red wine) is also produced, often aged in oak barrels.
- Champagnes: Well-known cuvées are Carte d'Or Tradition (90% Pinot Noir), Cuvée du Mélomane (a rare Blanc de Blancs from Bouzy, 100% Chardonnay), Cuvée Marcellin (Extra Brut) and Cuvée l'Age d'Or (Millésime).
- Visits: The house offers cellar visits, tastings and has a gîte (holiday home) for tourists. The location is at 32 Rue de Tours-sur-Marne in Bouzy.
