Champagne Hébrart
Champagne house in Champagne.
Champagne Marc Hébrart is a récoltant-manipulant in the Premier Cru village of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, in the Vallée de la Marne.
- History: Marc Hébrart had been bottling champagne from his own grapes since 1964. In 1997 his son Jean-Paul Hébrart took over the estate. The house is a member of the Club Trésors de Champagne, an association of independent growers.
- Vineyards and terroir: The estate owns around 15 hectares, mainly Pinot Noir, spread over dozens of parcels in several villages; the largest share lies in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ.
- Winemaking and style: Each parcel is harvested, pressed and vinified separately, mostly in stainless steel. Jean-Paul aims for balance between fruit, acidity and elegance rather than power.
- Cuvées: The range includes the Réserve Premier Cru, Mes Favorites Vieilles Vignes, a rosé from Mareuil, the barrel-fermented Rive Gauche-Rive Droite, the Spécial Club and Clos de Léon from a walled plot in Dizy.
