Champagne Guyot-Guillaume is a family business in Méry-Prémecy (about 15 km from Reims), founded in 1954 by Geneviève and Jacques Guyot, who planted the first vines in the early 1960s. The second generation, Catherine and Dominique, took over the business in the 1970s and developed direct sales, while the current third generation, Agathe and Thomas (brother and sister), has run the business since 2015 with a focus on sustainability and modernity.
Vineyards and Terroir
The vineyard is dominated by Pinot Meunier (86%), complemented by Pinot Noir (11%) and Chardonnay (3%). The business has been certified Viticulture Durable en Champagne (VDC) and Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) since July 2019, which guarantees an environmentally friendly approach to viticulture.
Winemaking
Guyot-Guillaume is a récoltant coopérateur: they grow their own grapes and deliver them to a producers' union where the cuvées are put together. Visitors can see the whole process, including maturing, riddling (remuage), disgorging (dégorgement) and labelling, and take part in walks and tastings in the cellar.
Champagnes and Prices
The product line includes various stylish champagnes, such as:
- Champagne Brut Tradition (approx. €22.00)
- Champagne Brut Nature (approx. €24.40)
- Champagne Brut Rosé (approx. €24.30)
- Cuvée Erreur* and Cuvée N°6
