Champagne Grasset-Stern is a récoltant-manipulant (freedom of production) based in Moussy, just 3 km from Épernay in the Champagne region, with a history going back to 1890. The house is currently run by Maryse and Jean-Louis Grasset, who have passed on the craft for four generations by finding a balance between tradition and modernity.
Since May 2022 the operation has been certified under the Viticulture Durable en Champagne (VDC) and Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) standards, with Terra Vitis as an additional label. The champagnes are produced in a family business where the vinification steps, including traditional riddling on pupitres and pressing, are closely monitored. Production is about 25,000 bottles a year, with a focus on elegance and fidelity to terroir.
The champagnes are recommended at a temperature of 7 to 10°C and are best poured in two stages to preserve the aromas. The house has received recognition in the Guide des Vins Dussert-Gerber 2020, where it won the Prix d'Excellence and was classified among the 2nd Grands Vins with priority for elegance. Visitors can visit the operation for a tour and tasting, with the emphasis on the complete winemaking cycle.
