Champagne Granzamy is a family business based in Venteuil (Marne, Grand Est), on the hills of the Marne Valley overlooking Épernay. The estate was originally founded in 1907 by the Granzamy family and was taken over in the early 2000s by Béatrice and Raphaël Lamiraux, who continue the tradition of the vignerons récoltants (grape growers who bottle their own wine).
History and Vineyards The family has produced champagne from vine to bottle for three generations. The vineyard area is about 13 hectares with soil consisting of clay, limestone and chalk. The grape varieties are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, with Pinot Meunier playing a dominant role in the blends, typical of the Marne Valley.
Method and Products Granzamy is certified as an organic professional (professionnel du Bio). The house produces six signature cuvées:
- Cuvée Grande Réserve: A blend of equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot, with 5 to 10 years of ageing.
- Cuvée Brut Blanc de Blancs: 100% Chardonnay.
- Cuvée Prestige: 60% Pinots and 40% Chardonnay.
- Cuvée Spéciale: Dominated by Pinot Meunier (up to 70%).
- Rosé: Made from 87% white and 13% red wine.
- R. Lamiraux: A specific line, including a Blanc de Noirs.
Visitors can taste and buy at the estate at 15 Rue de Champagne, 51480 Venteuil.
