Ferdinand Bonnet is a champagne house in Les Riceys, in the Côte des Bar, the south of Champagne. The house was founded in 1922 and belongs to Maison Bonnet; it inherits the culture of excellence of Domaine Alexandre Bonnet, with cuvées that are more spontaneous in style.
Vineyards In the Côte des Bar, Pinot Noir is deeply rooted in hard limestone and yields intense wines. In Montgueux, Chardonnay on chalk brings light and delicacy to the blends. The house follows its own CSR charter, with particular attention to the biodiversity of the slopes.
Approach The chef de caves is Irvin Charpentier, the son of a winegrower from Bar-sur-Aube and a Dijon graduate, who started out as a labourer. His art is blending, in keeping with the house style.
Champagnes
- Grande Réserve Brut: 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc, with a large proportion of reserve wines.
- Also Blanc de Noirs, Perle Rosée, Organic, Demi-Sec, Volupté, Extra-Brut and Vintage.
