Champagne‌ Daniel Étienne is an independent wine house in Cumières (Grande Vallée de la Marne), founded in 1983 by Jean-Marie Étienne, who handed the management to his son Daniel in 2009. Since 2024 production has also been marked by the latter's son Louis-Marie. The estate has 7 hectares of Premier Cru vineyards, mainly with Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, located in a south-facing terroir known for its chalk and clay soil.

The winemakers follow an environmentally conscious approach (often close to organic viticulture or HVE) with hand harvesting and minimal intervention in the process. Vinification takes place on site, with a minimum of three years' ageing on the lees and a controlled dosage; a few cuvées are even zero dosage (no added sugars). The house is known for its Cuvée Spéciale 1er Cru, Extra-Brut Grande Réserve and a Rosé for which Pinot Noir (85%) is combined with Chardonnay for freshness and elegance.

In addition to champagne, the estate offers visitor tours and tastings (usually 09:00-12:00 and 14:00-18:00, by appointment) and three chambres d’hôtes overlooking the river Marne. The champagnes have won several prizes, including gold at the Concours des Vignerons Indépendants (2018, 2019) and at Féminalise.

Main Cuvées

Cuvée Spéciale 1er Cru: A classic blend of white and black grapes, known for its complexity and long finish.
Extra-Brut Grande Réserve: A zero dosage champagne with a minimum of four years' ageing on the lees, for a full and soft taste.
Rosé 1er Cru: An expressive rosé, mainly from Pinot Noir with 15-20% Chardonnay, fruity and elegant.
Brut Tradition: An accessible and fruity basic champagne.
Millésimés: Produced only in exceptional years.
