Champagne Benoit Dinvaut
Champagne house in Champagne.
Champagne Benoît Dinvaut is a small family estate in Gueux, on the slopes of the Montagne de Reims west of Reims. Benoît Dinvaut makes champagne from his own grapes and sells it directly from the estate.
- Vineyards and terroir: The estate focuses mainly on Pinot Meunier. According to one importer, Dinvaut uses organic fertilisers in the vineyard.
- Approach and style: For his vintage wine, the first fermentation takes place in oak with natural yeasts, after which the wine ages for at least five years on its lees.
- Cuvées: Known wines include the Millésime 2012 Extra Brut, made from 100% Meunier, and the Millésime 2015 Brut. One importer describes the latter as showing notes of citrus, apple and plum with a chalky minerality.
