History: The champagne house was officially founded in 1920 by Juliette and Félicien Bauchet. The estate grew from 1 hectare in 1920 to 34-35 hectares in the 1960s under Félicien and his three sons (Raphaël, Gérard, Roland). Since 2009 it has been managed by the fifth generation, Robin and Florence Bauchet, supported by oenologist Bruno Charlemagne.
Vineyards: The vineyards cover approximately 35 hectares and are divided over seven different crus in the Côte des Blancs (Grauves), Montagne de Reims (Bisseuil) and Côte des Bar (Aube) regions. Only the noble grape varieties Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are used, with a third on Premier Cru soil.
Approach: As an independent Récoltant-Manipulant, the house produces approximately 300,000 bottles per year. Vinification takes place entirely in stainless steel to preserve the neutral expression of the terroir. The champagnes rest for up to eight years in the underground cellars (8 metres deep) and the estate is currently converting to organic viticulture.
Champagnes: The core products include:
- Signature Premier Cru Brut: 80% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir; the house's iconic cuvée.
- Saint-Nicaise: A vintage Blanc de Blancs (100% Chardonnay).
- Mémoire: A vintage Premier Cru with 75% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Noir, aged for five years.
- Contraste: An Extra Brut Blanc de Noirs (100% Pinot Noir) with a low dosage of 5.5 g/l.
- Origine: A blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay that reflects the broad spectrum of the terroir.
