Champagne Aurore Casanova
Champagne house in Champagne.
Champagne Aurore Casanova is a small estate run by Aurore Casanova and her husband Jean-Baptiste Robinet, based in Mardeuil near Épernay. The couple founded the estate in 2013.
- History: Aurore was a professional ballet dancer before returning to the family vineyards, which her mother had planted in the 1960s. She and Jean-Baptiste met while studying viticulture and oenology in Avize.
- Vineyards and terroir: The parcels are spread across the Montagne de Reims, the Côte des Blancs and the Vallée de la Marne, including grand cru plots in Puisieulx and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.
- Approach and style: The estate has been certified organic since 2023 and follows biodynamic principles, with hand harvesting. The wines are made with minimal intervention, using native fermentation, low dosage and no fining or filtration.
- Cuvées: The range includes Aure, a Rosé, Union Grand Cru (Chardonnay from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger with a perpetual reserve of Pinot Noir from Puisieulx) and the single-plot series Les Petites Vignes.
