Vindey lies in the Sézannais, close to Sézanne (Marne department). The commune has no cru status.
- Vineyards: Vindey lies on the slopes of the Sézannais, on lime-rich clay soils. Chardonnay is the main grape, alongside Pinot Noir.
- Character: the clay-limestone soils give the Chardonnay structure and breadth; the champagnes are riper and rounder than those from the Côte des Blancs.
- Producers: Bernard Depoivre and Bertrand & Bernard Doyard are based here.
- Notable: the house of Michel Gonet from Avize makes a Blanc de Blancs that combines Chardonnay from Vindey with grapes from Montgueux near Troyes.
