Trois-Puits is a small village in the Marne department, just south of Reims, on the northern flank of the Montagne de Reims. The village has Premier Cru status.
- Vineyards: pinot noir and chardonnay are the main grapes, complemented by some meunier, on chalk-rich soils.
- Character: the champagnes have a taut, fresh structure; the chalk soil gives them grip and length.
- Producers: the village is home to Larnaudie-Hirault, among others. Pierre Trichet, in Trois-Puits for three generations, and Pierre Baillette also work here; with Le Village, Baillette makes a Premier Cru champagne exclusively from grapes from Trois-Puits, based on pinot noir and chardonnay with a proportion of old meunier.
