Loches-sur-Ource lies in the valley of the Ource, in the Barséquanais in the Côte des Bar (Aube department). The commune has no cru status.
- Vineyards: the slopes along the Ource rest on lime-rich Kimmeridgian marl. Pinot Noir is the dominant grape, complemented by Chardonnay.
- Character: the champagnes are ripe and fruity, with the full, round style that characterises Pinot Noir from the Aube.
- Producers: Amyot and Poinsot Frères make champagne here.
Together with neighbouring villages such as Celles-sur-Ource, Loches-sur-Ource forms a continuous wine-growing area in the Ource valley, which belongs to the core of the Barséquanais.
