Grauves lies in the Côte des Blancs, in a side valley west of Cramant and Avize, a short distance from Épernay (Marne department). The village has Premier Cru status.
- Vineyards: Chardonnay strongly predominates, on slopes with a chalk subsoil. Because the village lies in a valley, the plots have varying aspects.
- Character: the champagnes are fresh and mineral, in the style of the Côte des Blancs, but often somewhat softer than those of the Grand Cru villages on the main slope.
- Producers: Pierre Domi and Driant Valentin make champagne here. Many grapes from Grauves also find their way to the major houses in Épernay.
