Warnet is a family house and récoltant-manipulant in Nogent-l'Abbesse, in the Montagne de Reims, which has handed down its know-how from generation to generation since 1696. The house carries out every stage of champagne-making itself and uses only carefully selected grapes from its own vineyard. The director is Alexis Warnet.
Vineyards The roughly forty plots all lie on a single sunny chalk slope of the Montagne de Reims, which allows excellent traceability, and are farmed sustainably. The average vine age is 39 years; some plots are more than 65 years old. The vineyard is almost entirely planted with Chardonnay; just one plot is Pinot Noir.
Method The champagnes age for 6 to 8 years in the house's cellars.
Champagnes The range consists almost entirely of Blanc de Blancs:
- La Réserve: extra brut from reserve wines
- Secret d'Initié: more than a year in oak barrels
- La Gourmandise: demi-sec
- L'Héritage: the flagship, from the first pressing only
- L'Excellence: from vines over 50 years old, 8 years on the lees
- L'Exception: Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru
- La Signature
