Champagne Solemme is a grower estate in Villers-aux-Nœuds, on the northern edge of the Montagne de Reims, run by Catherine and Olivier Langlais.
- History: In 2006 Catherine and Olivier Langlais took over the family vineyard. The name Solemme is a play on 'sol' (sun) and 'femme' (woman).
- Vineyards and terroir: The estate has about 6 hectares spread across five Premier Cru terroirs in the Montagne de Reims, including Villers-aux-Nœuds and Chamery, on chalky soils.
- Approach and style: Since 2010 the estate has been farmed organically and biodynamically. Since 2013 Olivier Langlais has focused on revitalising the soil, using methods such as compost tea and alfalfa pellets. In the cellar, indigenous yeasts are used, without chaptalisation and with limited filtration.
- Cuvées: Ambre de Solemme is a blanc de noirs without dosage. Esprit de Solemme is a brut nature from Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, aged 36 months on the lees. Rosé de Solemme is the house's first rosé, made by Clément of the next generation.
