Simon-Legrand is a family estate in Nesles-la-Montagne, in the Vallée de la Marne south of Château-Thierry. The Simon family has farmed AOC Champagne vineyards since 1913, when Ernest Simon planted the first 0.06 hectares in the lieu-dit Les Vignolles. For a long time wine-growing was a sideline to farming and livestock; in the 1960s Georges and Simone replanted in the lieu-dit Le Chaufour. The third generation now makes the champagnes, and the estate controls every step from vineyard to sale.
Vineyards The vineyards lie mainly on the slope of Nesles-la-Montagne and Étampes-sur-Marne, but also in Château-Thierry, Brasles and Gland, partly facing west and partly due south. The soil is silty clay over marl. 95% of the plots are grassed; the estate is HVE certified and, according to its home page, also certified organic (Agriculture Biologique).
Method Each plot is vinified separately, with a strict selection of the musts at every harvest.

- Traditionesles: the family's first cuvée (60% Meunier)
- Rosénesles: rosé with 10% red wine
- Emotionesles: 60% Pinot Noir, partly barrel-aged
