Champagne Piot-Sévillano is an independent wine house in Vincelles (Champagne, France), run by Christine and Vincent Sévillano, who produce their champagnes on a unique terroir with passion and character.
History The house has a rich tradition of 10 generations of winegrowers, traceable to 1700. The family originally also focused on cherry growing, but later devoted itself entirely to winegrowing under Emile Piot (1880-1969). Christine, a former journalist, took over the business after her parents retired, together with her husband Vincent.
Vineyards The estate covers 8 hectares of vineyards in the heart of the Marne Valley, with a clay-limestone soil. The grape varieties are distributed as follows:
- 70% Pinot Meunier
- 15% Pinot Noir
- 15% Chardonnay
Approach Piot-Sévillano takes an ecological approach with a zero policy on weedkillers and insecticides. The estate has been certified High Environmental Value (HVE) since 2015 and fully organic since 2023. The grapes are harvested by hand and part of the work in the vineyard is done with the help of horses.
Champagnes The champagnes are made naturally and are known as rare, atypical and full of character. Tastings take place in the old village school of Vincelles, where various cuvées can be tasted, such as:
- La Rebelle (100% Chardonnay)
- La Provocante (100% Pinot Meunier)
- La Impertinente (100% Pinot Noir)
- Brut Tradition, Rosé and Prestige
