Champagne Patrice Guay is a family estate in Festigny, in the Vallée du Flagot, at the centre of the Vallée de la Marne. The estate owns its vineyard; the grapes are grown, harvested and vinified there, and the champagnes are released as extra brut or brut nature.
Approach
In the tradition of the Benedictine monks of Festigny, the estate uses natural growing methods such as sowing clover, aiming to build a link between plants, soil and vine.
Champagnes
Meunier is the main grape, bringing fruit and roundness; pinot noir is reserved for the rosé. As chardonnay is unusual in this valley, the estate makes it into the single-plot cuvée Originale and the new Esprit Blanc: one plot, one harvest, one grape, aged in foudre. There is also the special cuvée Mature.
