Champagne P. Guerre & Fils is a family business in Venteuil, a village overlooking the right bank of the Marne a few kilometres downstream from Épernay. The Guerre family, originally from the Creuse, settled here in 1870. Pierre Guerre created the P. Guerre brand in the 1950s, with a philosophy of diversifying terroirs, grape varieties and plots.
Vineyards
Michel Guerre, his wife Nicole and their daughter Delphine farm vineyards in ten villages, including Venteuil, Damery, Boursault, Épernay and Vertus, with plots such as Les Glageolles, Les Richelettes and La Tourmentaine. The vines of the three Champagne grapes are 30 years old on average.
Approach
From harvest to bottling, disgorgement and sale, everything is done by the family on the estate, with a consultant oenologist joining them for the blending. The wines are traditionally given long ageing.
Champagnes
The range comprises Brut Tradition, Tradition Demi-Sec, Brut Réserve (50% pinot noir, 50% chardonnay), Blanc de Blancs, Brut Rosé, Blanc de Blancs Millésime 2021, Blanc de Blancs Les Glageolles from a single plot and a Blanc de Noirs Millésime 2015.
