Champagne​‌​ Oudit-Simonnet is a vigneron propriétaire récoltant (independent wine producer) based in Val-de-Vière, in the Marne (51) department, close to Vitry-le-François. The house was officially founded in 1992 and has presented its champagnes under its own name ever since.

History and Family

• The first vines were planted in 1992 in the Coteaux Vitryats sector.
• The business is a family affair; today the wines are produced by Jean-Charles Oudit and Benoit Bomersbach (together with their wives Caroline and Noëlle).
• The business is recognised as a GAEC (agricultural entity) and is a member of local associations, active in the development of the region.

Vineyards and Terroir

• The vineyards are located on two slopes: Val-de-Vière and Lisse-en-Champagne.
• The terrain is characterised by a chalky, slightly marly soil, typical of Champagne, with a fully southern orientation that guarantees optimal sunlight.
• The location is on the border of the departments of Marne (51), Meuse (55) and Haute-Marne (52), at the "gateway" of the Champagne region.

Approach

• The viticulture is carried out strictly in accordance with the AOC Champagne rules.
• It is an independent production; the family owns and works their own vineyards and vinifies the grapes into their own cuvées.
• Visitors are welcomed for wine tastings and tours of the estate, with an emphasis on sharing the local culture and the product.
