Champagne Michel Hatat is a family business in Saint-Martin-d'Ablois, on the southern slopes of Épernay. The brand was founded in 1974 by Maria and Michel Hatat, on land they inherited from Marcelle Hatat. Since 2006 their children Rémy, Pascal and Hugues have run the business.
Approach
The champagnes are blends of the three Champagne grapes and combine Champagne tradition with modern technology. For its reserve wines the house uses its own solera. Since 3 March 2022 the estate has been certified HVE and VDC.
Champagnes
- Brut: around 50% chardonnay, 40% meunier and 10% pinot noir, with 30% reserve wine from the solera.
- Brut de Brut and Rosé Peu Dosé: lightly dosed (4 g/l).
- Demi-Sec and Extravagance, the latter with a bold dosage of 55 g/l.
- Also a Rosé, a Blanc de Noirs, a Blanc de Blancs Millésime 2019, a Millésime 2019 Extra-Brut and two rosés de saignée.
Visitors can tour the cellars and taste in the 'le Bulloir' tasting cellar, by appointment.
