Champagne Max Cochut is a family estate in the Montagne de Reims, based at the Château de Tauxières-Mutry in Tauxières-Mutry (commune of Val de Livre).
- History: The family has grown grapes since the 19th century. In 1956 Louis Cochut and his son Max bought the Château de Tauxières-Mutry. Max launched a brand under his own name in 1972 and in 1990 left the cooperative to set up his own winery at the château. Today his children and grandchildren run the estate.
- Vineyards and terroir: The estate farms 23 hectares on premier cru and grand cru terroirs in the Montagne de Reims, 80% planted with Pinot Noir.
- Approach and style: The cuvées are aged on their lees for a long time, almost eight years on average. The vineyards are farmed according to 'viticulture raisonnée'.
- Cuvées: The Cuvée Tradition Premier Cru (55% Pinot Noir, 45% Chardonnay), a 100% Pinot Noir Blanc de Noirs, a Blanc de Blancs, a Grand Cru and vintage wines such as the 2012 (equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir).
